MALAYSIA'S 1ST ANNIKA SORENSTAM DESIGNED GOLF COURSE
Apart from its rich diversity of flora and fauna, the Mines Golf City
stands out as Malaysia's largest and only 63-hole golf course.
The first 18 holes will be designed by none other
than Annika Sorenstam, one
of the world's best women golfers of her generation. |
"As
I approach a new design I look to capture the natural character
of the landscape. I feel that it is very important to preserve
the environment, spirit, and traditions of the game. The creation
of a variety of tees with generous landing areas gives each individual
the opportunity to be challenged based on their skill level, while
smaller greens and challenging approaches will make it a true and
fair test to remember. My design at the Mines Golf City
will feature all of these design elements and I am very proud to be
associated with such a world-class development.”
